Save our Planet!
...and save our hyper cars.
I don't like mixing political debate with my love of hyper cars but there is an end-goal and a purpose, let me explain. It's obvious that we all need to do more to make our planet a better place to live in, for our future generations. I want my children (when me and Megan F decide!) to inherit a planet that is better than when I was born and that should include many aspects not just reducing carbon emissions, we want a safer more tolerant world where all human pursuits and endeavors contribute in a positive way. Not to design, build and test a nuke because you are a 33-year old weakling!
Back to cars, the three biggest contributors to climate change are; (1) fossil fuel burning power plants, (2) petrol burning transportation and (3) methane emissions from animals and agriculture. Well item (1) requires our politicians to rise to the challenge and (3) requires us all to start eating less meat like Mr. Schwarzenegger has told us! Okay, he maybe right but he did not win 7 Mr.Olympia titles eating carrot soup and cucumber sandwiches. The truth is we are as Dennis Leary describes, I tried eating vegetarian. I felt like a wimp going into a restaurant. "What do you want to eat sir? Broccoli?" Broccoli's a side dish, folks. Always was, always will be, OK! When they ask me what I want, I say: What do you think I want? This is America. I want a bowl of raw red meat right now.
Now item (2) is an issue and the talented engineers we have on the planet recognise this and are therefore designing and building new and innovative power-trains to ensure that future vehicles reside at number 2,039 on the list of biggest contributors to climate change.
The big plus here for lovers of super cars and hyper cars is obvious and that is that most of the planet who own a vehicle do not own a super car and certainly not a hyper car, so although cars are big contributors to climate change it is predominantly those people who drive a Ford Focus (me!) or a Vauxhall Astra. Therefore, if we get to a state where vehicles like the; Toyota Corolla, VW Golf, Ford Focus, our big global sellers all emit zero emissions, hyper car manufacturers can continue as usual and for this specific article one of my favourite manufacturers "Pagani".
For companies like Toyota, Ford and VW this is a simple challenge but an important one, they will indirectly make it okay for companies like Pagani to produce a V12 - 740 BHP hyper car, with all the noise, smell and bravado you would expect! However, the overwhelming message is clear, we all need to contribute to saving the planet so we all save big V12 hyper cars...now where is that packet of dry Broccoli soup.
